Manufacturing and Benefits of Galvanised Steel Coil

Regarding galvanised steel coil, we need to know that its steel is a carbon flat steel product with galvanized surface. This coating increases the corrosion resistance of the coil or plate. galvanised steel coil is a material produced by continuous hot-dip galvanizing process with hot-rolled steel strip or cold-rolled steel strip as the substrate.

Ⅰ. How is galvanised steel coil manufactured?

The most common method of galvanizing steel coil is the hot-dip galvanizing process. During hot dip galvanizing, carbon steel coils are dipped in an acid bath to remove scale. Once the steel is cleaned and descaled, it is continuously dipped into a bath of molten zinc to form a metallurgical bond and a protective coating with controlled coat weight. The weight of the coating increases the corrosion resistance of the steel. The zinc bath in the hot-dip galvanizing process contains trace elements such as aluminum. The presence of these marks optimizes the adhesion of the coating and increases the ductility of galvanized steel, galvanised steel coil and galvanised steel coil, allowing the material to form into the hundreds of products we use every day.

In previous steelmaking days, galvanised steel coils used to contain large, ornate patterns of zinc crystals called "sequins" on the surface of the steel. The sequins resemble large hexagonal snowflakes. Although today's galvanized steel still contains sequins, the sequins in galvanized steel produced by modern steel mills are almost imperceptible to the naked eye. This is known as minimal spangle and zero spangle galvanized steel.

Ⅱ. The benefits of galvanised steel coil

1. Super protection: galvanised steel coil can prevent the surface corrosion of steel plate and prolong the service life. Every inch of galvanised steel coil is protected, even from sharp edges and hard-to-reach cracks.

2. Low maintenance: Steel that lacks a protective coating requires more maintenance to keep the product looking and structurally safe.

3. Economical: The choice of galvanised steel coil may seem more expensive initially, but in the long run, it is a huge investment. Also, galvanizing is actually less expensive than many other protective steel coatings.

4. Long durability: The service life of galvanized steel sheet can reach 50 years, and it can withstand the exposure of urban and coastal areas.

Ⅲ. Application of galvanised steel coil

galvanised steel coils are mainly used in some industries, such as construction. In construction, galvanised steel coils are mainly used for the roofs of some industrial and residential buildings to prevent corrosion. galvanised steel coils are used in light industry for the production of electrical enclosures, chimneys, kitchen utensils and automotive anti-corrosion parts. galvanised steel coils are also used for storage and transportation in farming, animal husbandry and fishing areas.
